ONDATRÓPICA

What was initially an exercise in musicology became a tribute, translated into a record, and finally became a family. Mario Galeano and Quantic carried out their most ambitious project when they brought together legends like Michi Sarmiento, Marcos Micolta, Alfredito Linares, Ramayana and others to bring Ondatrópica to life. A sincere revival of Colombian tropicalismo of the 60s. Five years later, they decided to go to Providencia to give a Caribbean spirit to the project that with Llorona Recorda, Elkin Robinson, Coral Group and Jordan Bway resulted in the second disc of Ondatrópica, Baile Bucanero. “Bogotá” is a tribute that Michi Sarmiento made to the city 40 years ago, that now revived as the most sincere single of his new album and a vindication of the essence of the project: a continuous tribute to the fundamental rhythms of Colombian tropical folklore.
