LANA DEL REY

Elizabeth Wooldrige Grant was born in New York City on June 21, 1985. Her father wrote country songs and was the one who introduced her to her first major musical influence: The Beach Boys. In 2006, she debuted on stage, as Lizzy Grant at the Williamsburg Live Songwriting Competition. In 2008 she released Kill Kill, the last EP before becoming Lana del Rey. Her debut album, Lana del Ray, featured her on the cover of the album with blond Monroesk hair, and a last glimpse of her past: “A.K.A. Lizzy Grant ” was printed on the cover. Born To Die was released on January 27, 2012 bringing the Indie Queen to life. Tattoos dictating “Withman Nabakov” and “Nina, Billie, Whitney and Amy”. Songs with daring titles like “Love” and “National Anthem”. Four albums in five years. A career that overcame alcoholism, harmful relationships and a live embarrassment on Saturday Night Live. The letters as catharsis. Lana del Rey at the FEP.
